Today we review Club Lime.

We purchased a membership at Club Lime and spent some time working out in their facility so that we can share our experience with others.

We help fitness beginners overcome gym intimidation, sign up for their first membership and start working out with weights properly so they can achieve ongoing results with their body.

Let’s dive in.

About Club Lime

Club Lime first opened their doors in the ACT in 2004 and are now one of the fastest-growing gym chains in Australia, sporting over 30,000 members. Club Lime is owned by Viva Leisure, who also owns the Plus Fitness and Fit n Fast franchises.

Club Lime prides themselves on being ‘more than a gym or training facility’ where you can be yourself without worrying about what’s going on around you. Each Club Lime has considerably different prices and offerings, so it’s best to check what your local facility has before joining up.

What was my experience like?

I have purchased a membership at club lime and have throughly enjoyed my experience there so far. My membership is at Club Lime Nunawading, Victoria, which has recently opened late in 2020.

Here’s what I like most about Club Lime:

✓ The extremely new and slick equipment, the very reasonable price tag and how empty the gym is most of the time – I hardly ever have to wait for a machine.

✓ The staff have been nothing but friendly and approachable, in fact, they are always down for a chat and always give a polite greeting upon arrival.

✓ Club Lime is great value for money – they are relatively low cost for the amount of perks you get such a large amount of equipment and group fitness classes.

✓ Club Lime are relatively large clubs, sporting a bigger gym floor and more extensive equipment than other similarly priced gym chains.

✓ Almost all Club Lime facilities are open 24/7.

Here are some of the limitations I noticed about Club Lime:

✗ If you’re hoping to visit multiple Club Lime locations, your membership fees will be substantially more than for single club access.

✗ Each Club Lime has considerably different prices and offerings, which may be a little confusing for new members. Make sure you check what’s on offer at your specific location before joining.

✗ Club Lime is still growing, so does not yet have many locations in some states.

Club Lime also offer ‘express’ or ‘premiere’ memberships, which can cost as little as $9.99 or as much as $22.90 per week, respectively.

If you want to be able to visit multiple Club Lime Locations, you’ll need to upgrade to a multi-club membership, which costs $24.90 per week. You can also save money on your Club Lime membership by paying for a set amount of time upfront, such as for 3 months or 12 months at a time.

Club Lime Equipment and Facilities

Club Lime locations have an extensive amount of equipment, although keep in mind it does vary between locations. In our observation, Club Lime gyms are kept very tidy and almost all locations look spectacular.

As a minimum you can expect:

  • Cardio equipment area including bikes, treadmills, cross-trainers and rowers
  • A functional training zone with kettlebells, ropes, sleds, etc. upon an astroturf floor.
  • Free weight area with benches and dumbbells
  • Barbell area including bars, plates and squat cages/racks
  • Machine section with multiple pin and weight loaded equipment
  • Separate & dedicated studio for group fitness classes.
  • A larger than average floor space, with some clubs over 1800 square meters.
  • Change rooms, showers, lockers and reception area/lounge
