About Crunch Fitness

Crunch Fitness started in 1989 in USA and has grown to over 300 locations across America, Canada and more recently, Australia. They only have 17 locations in Australia so far but are rapidly expanding.

Crunch Fitness has undergone a lot of changes to their branding and management over the years, but now markets themselves as a friendly, ‘no judgements’ gym. They liken themselves to a family, where everyone feels accepted and comfortable.

What Makes Crunch Fitness Different?

✓ Crunch Fitness are great value for money, you get a lot of perks for a small price.

✓ Crunch Fitness’ are simply huge – they have an extensive gym floor and plenty of equipment. We doubt you’ll be waiting around for long to use your favourite machines compared to other similarly priced gyms.

With their mid-tier membership and up, you’ll have the ability to bring a friend to train with you. This makes Crunch a great option if you’re feeling a little nervous about getting started and would love some support, or even simply comradery as you get into your routine.

What Limitations does Crunch Fitness have?

✗ Crunch Fitness is not open 24/7, meaning you can only visit during staffed hours.

✗ There aren’t many locations of Crunch yet – they are still growing in Austrailia, so it might be difficult to find a Crunch near you.

✗ Some members have complained online that the customer service at Crunch can be sub-par and that they are confused about some of the charges they’re receiving. Our advice would be to have a thorough look through the contract before you sign to ensure you know what you’ll be billed.
