V Shred is a program based fitness and diet platform that offers users exercise and diet programs that focus on delivering users the maximum results with the minimum amount time working out. Utilising their blog and online community to help keep you on track.
But is V Shred any good?
Today we will be taking a deep dive into the V Shred brand, exercise programs and meal plans, weighing up the pros and cons so that you can decide if V Shred is the right choice for you.
About V Shred
V Shred was developed by popular social media influencer Vince Sant when he launched his YouTube channel in 2015, uploading various tips and tricks to get users results fast.
V Shred was launched in 2018 and is designed to give users access to all the programs and meal plans that V Shred has to offer, with the tools users need to succeed in on easy to use platform.
Our Experience With V Shred
Signing up to V Shred for the first time you will be asked a few basic questions (age, gender, height and weight), before asking a more in depth questions about your lifestyle and exercise preferences to cater your V Shred experience to serve you.
- Activity Level (Light, Moderate, Very Active)
- Goal (Gain Muscle, Tone, Fat Loss)
After which V Shred will generate a recommended daily calorie intake and macronutrient breakdown (protein, carbohydrates and fats) for your body and lifestyle.
After this you will be met with one of those pesky sales videos, this one was particularly tricky not letting you move to the next page until you listen to a few second and scroll through their list of products.
The ‘My Stuff’ tab acts as your home page. A hub of all the information you will need to get started using V Shred.
This page gives you access to trial four of V Shreds marquee programs before you buy.
- Ripped In 90 Days
- Clean Bulk Program
- Fat Loss Extreme
- Toned In 90 Days
Taking a deep dive into the programs, and they are structured extremely well, catering to those whether you prefer to train at home or at the gym. Providing you with clear sets and repetitions with 90 diet plan and access to their exclusive Facebook group.
At first impressions it is clear that V Shred is not for the faint heart. They take training seriously and want to get you results with clear results driven programming.
The discover tab allows you to peruse the rest of the programs that V Shred has to offer.
Each program is accompanied by an extensive outline of the program and associated benefits. However, this appears to be sales driven, pushing to you to buy at every stage of your journey.
The supplements tab allows you look through the V Shred catalogue of supplements to help you on your way.
The products V Shred offer include:
- Burn Evolved (Weight Loss)
- Burn PM (Weight Loss)
- Test Boost Max (Performance Enhancers)
- Pre Workout
- Neuroctane (Performance Enhancers)
- Turmeric Black (Performance Enhancers)
- And More.
The macros tab is by far my favourite part of the V Shred platform. When you first sign up to the V Shred you will be given estimated calories and macronutrients to reach your goals based on your circumstances. Allowing you to customise your preferences as you go.
Tracking your calories and macronutrients and learning how to manipulate your calorie intake so that you can use food as a tool to achieve your goals is a skill that takes years to master.
Many fitness applications overlook the importance of tracking your calories and more importantly macronutrients, so to have access to an easy to use calorie tracker to help you stay on top of your food is a massive bonus.
What We Like About V Shred
The programs that V Shred has to offer are in depth and offer the simplicity that makes following along easy. But the complexity of programming to make it challenging enough for more intermediate and advanced users.
Free To Sign Up
You are able to download and browse and trial the V Shred exercise programs for free. However, if you want access to their complete workout plans you will need to pay for their full programs.
Great For Intermediate And Advanced Users
V Shred offer amazing programs for intermediate to advanced users who know what they want to achieve and have the drive to work autonomously with a little bit of help from the V Shred app to achieve it.
Calorie Tracker And Recommendations
Learning to manipulate your calorie intake to help you progress to your goals is an invaluable skill and one that many fitness apps overlook. V Shred giving users access to calorie and macro recommendations is an awesome plus to the V Shred platform.
V Shred Limitations
Not Great For Beginners
V Shred is the proverbial fitness deep end. To get the most out of it you will have to have a reasonable undestanding of fitness and be self motivated to achieve your goals. Beginners may not find V Shred to be beneficial as it lacks the guidance that beginners require to succeed.
Each program has a large portion of text. Although this information is informative I found it to be overwhelming and intimidating to try and wade through.
Within the first 2 minutes of signing up to the V Shred platform I was made to watch one sales presentation, then when I landed on the ‘My Stuff’ home page, I was immediately prompted with another sales funnel. Even I found this frustrating so new members may find this to be a turn off.
V Shred: The Bottom Line
V Shred is a exercise and diet platform designed to help users get results fast.
V Shred offer an intensive, clear and well structured programs.
V Shred will be best suited to intermediate and advanced users who have spent some time learning and understanding the basics of exercise and technique and developed an understanding of what they need to do to achieve their fitness goals, with the will power and dedication to get there themselves..
V Shred will give them clear cut plans and tools to get there.
However sales structure and information density is overwhelming and lacks user focus. Focusing more on sales rather than offering value to the user. Beginners may find this overwhelming.
Furthermore, the complexity of the workouts combined with the lack of ongoing instruction and guidance in the form of a trainer to give them that level of accountability and motivation that beginners require to stay on track to their goals.
