But is Verv any good?
We downloaded the Verv app, researched the brand and got stuck into the workouts and will today be providing an in depth review of everything Verv has to offer so you can decipher whether it’s the right choice for you.
Let’s dive in.

A one week Verv subscription costs $29.99. A three month Verv subscription costs $28.49 (around $6.62 per week) and a yearly Verv memberships costs $149.99 which works out to be around $2.90 per week.
Verv also offers new users a 7 day free trial and a yearly membership for $42.99, which is about $0.80 per week.

Our Experience With Verv
When you first download Verv, you will be taken through a series of questions about your lifestyle, goals and health (e.g. gender, DOB, height, fitness level, diet, etc.).
- How can Verv improve your life?
- What do you want to focus on? (Physical activity, diet, sleep quality, mindfulness)
- What motivates you to exercise?
- What activities do you prefer? (Walking, running, meditation etc.)
- What is your estimated body fat?
- What muscle groups would you like to work on?
- What equipment do you have?
- Do you have any health issues?
- What is your preferred diet?
- How would you describe your sleep?
- And More.
Verv will then use the information you have provided to tailor a fitness program to your needs.
It was clear that Verv was focused on holistic changes to your health and lifestyle.
Asking in gathering information asking in depth questions about your lifestyle as a whole to determine how Verv can best serve you.
Once Verv has created your program, you will find yourself on the Home tab.
Here you will be able to find your goal and timeline, daily exercise target.
You will also be able to select one of the fitness challenges that Verv has selected for you or a single workout.
Personally my favourite part of the home tab is your weightloss goal and daily exercise target being the first thing you see when you open the app.
This increases your mindfulness and focus on your end goal but also breaks it down into smaller more manageable daily targets so that you do not get overwhelmed by the task at hand.
This will increase your mindfulness, consistency and motivation and increase your chances of success.
Next up the browse tab.
Verv offers an impressive collection of content and you can use the browse tab to find the exact content for you.
- New & Trending
- And More.
However, the Verv discover tab is limited as it does not have a traditional search and filter function, this means you will have to wade through the topic library to find what you are looking for which may be tedious and even frustrating.
Verv offers a range of short challenges to help you kick start your lifestyle change and stay motivated.
Some of the challenges on offer include:
- 21 Day Fitness Challenge
- 4 Week Weightloss Challenge
- 4 Week Body Tone Up
- 4 Weeks At Home Workouts For Men
- 30 Day All Food Diet
- 8 Step Sleep Meditation
- 4 Week Resistance Band Body Tone
- And More
Each challenge is accompanied with a blurb outlining what you can expect from the challenge (activities, duration, skill level, purpose etc.).
Each day you will have a new workout or activity to complete.
The Verv workouts are short and sweet. A simple list of exercises, timer and video demonstration.
What sets Verv apart from other fitness apps is the ongoing coaching and technical cues through the session, explaining in detail exactly what you need to do to complete each exercise safely and effectively.
This is something that is an absolute must, especially for users who need that extra bit of instruction to help them get through a session.
This may seem like common sense but you would be surprised at how many fitness apps overlook this vital part of coaching, with only a few fitness apps like FitOn and Centr really taking the time to implement this extra level of care.
Verv has set meal plans that they can access at their leisure.
- Restorative Keto
- All-Food Diet
- Easy Vegan
- Balanced Vegetarian
As well as an extensive library of recipes.
Similar to the exercise challenges the Verv meal plans come with a brief outline and set meals for each day.
The meal plans are simple and easy to follow but they lack customisation option which may make them tricky to follow for some users.
Secondly, the Verv recipes do not have in depth nutrient breakdowns making it difficult to accurately track exactly what you are eating each day.
What We Like About Verv
Clearly Stated Goals
On the home page you will find your main goal as well as your daily exercise targets. Helping you be mindful of your goals, and breaking it up into tangible, achievable daily tasks preventing you from becoming overwhelmed.
In Depth Questionnaire
The questionnaire you complete when you sign up is one of the more in depth questionnaires we have come across. This shows a real need to understand your personal circumstances so that Verv can best serve you.
Wide Range Of Meal Plans
The Verv meal plans cater to vegans, vegetarians, keto and intermittent fasting, which is one of the widest spreads of diet types we have seen in a fitness app.
In Depth Coaching During Workout
Verv provides ongoing coaching and technical cues through each workout, detailing exactly what you need to do to complete each exercise safely and effectively.
Great For Beginners
The combination of the user friendly interface, in depth questionnaire, tailored workout plans and workout challenges make Verv a great choice to help fitness beginners kickstart their fitness journey and stay accountable.
No Search Function
Verv does not have a traditional search and filter function, which means that you will have to search through the Verv topic library manually to find what you are looking for.
This may become tedious before long and cause some users to get frustrated.
Limited Meal Plans
The meal plans that Verv have to offer a simple and easy to follow but they lack customisation options and nutrient breakdown.
This makes it difficult to track exactly what is going into your food and may make it tricky to follow the meal plans exactly.
