Today we review Goodlife Health Clubs.
We purchased a four week membership at Goodlife Prahran and spent some time working out in their facility so that we can share our experience with others.
We help fitness beginners overcome gym intimidation, sign up for their first membership and start working out with weights properly so they can achieve ongoing results with their body.
We hope this article helps!
Let’s dive in.
Goodlife Health Clubs were founded in 2002 and have since grown to over 85 locations and 295,000 members across Australia. Their aim is to ‘move people to achieve great things – whether it’s maintaining a better work/life balance, creating healthy habits or training for a marathon’.
They pride themselves on being a tight-knit community that offer affordable and flexible membership options.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Goodlife and recommend it to anyone who’s prepared to pay a little more for their gym membership than your entry level, smaller facilities like snap fitness, anytime fitness, etc.
There are plenty of group fitness classes, equipment and spaces to suit your needs, and the 24/7 access is also a great addition to your membership if you want to go during quieter times.
For the most part, the environment is friendly and welcoming. The staff can be a little pushy and ‘salesy’ with trying to extend your membership, however, once you’re signed up it’s not really a problem.
✓ Goodlife are a highly reputable brand with high quality facilities, staff and offerings. They have plenty of facilities around Australia so there is usually one near your location.
✓ Each and every Goodlife club is super clean, has plenty of space & extensive equipment, as well as over 60 unique and fun group fitness classes. You won’t need to wait long to use equipment or find space to use in Goodlife facilities, even during peak times.
✓ Goodlife are continually making more and more of their clubs open 24/7, which is a massive win for members.
✗ We have seen a few issues with members struggling to cancel their memberships and have had bad experiences with customer service. Oftentimes, this is because they haven’t read their contract correctly. Make sure you have a thorough understanding of what your contract entails before signing.
✗ Unless you’re committing to a long term contract, Goodlife prices can really start to add up for pay as you go options, with some sources quoting $22.95 per week for membership.
✗ Goodlife are ‘hyper-vigilent’ with signing up members, so keep in mind that if you give them your contact details, you will be followed up and contacted quite thoroughly in an attempt to get you to join.
The majority of Goodlife Clubs are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for working out. You use a swipe key to access the club during non-staffed hours which you recieve when signing up.
If you’re hoping to sign up or ask any specific questions, you’ll need to visit Goodlife during their staffed hours and these times may vary from club to club and throughout the week.
Here’s a general guide for Goodlife staffed hours:
